Week 2 MOCA
Myriam Lozada - Jarvis received a BFA (Bachelors of Fine Art) degree in painting and mixed media from the School of Visual Arts, New York, in 1981 and a MFA from Hunter College, New York, in 1984. Jarvis's training and early work were in traditional art, but the advent of the computer brought her a new, fresh, different, and vital means of expression. She uses various techniques but tends to draw and paint her artwork. Myriam Lozada-Jarvis states. "I record bits and pieces of my life process and incorporate taste, smell, and sensual pleasure in my work. It is no longer just painting, drawing, printmaking, or photography, but in a deep expression that is relevant to our time and our interconnected world.. Myriam Lozada currently lives in Las Cruces, New Mexico, with her hubsand, JD Jarvis. In 1994, she adopted to the art of digital making tools. Myriam Lozada currently owns Dunking Bird Productions, which is a digital design and print company that caters to the needs of digital artists and collectors of fine artworks.
