Thanks Everyone...

All good things must eventually end... and this class is no exception.  Grades had to be turned in by early Monday morning.  I hope the experience of taking this class was worthwhile and rewarding.  Best Wishes to all as you progress in your degree... Hopefully I will see you again in the future!

Prof. Nevins

Art by Park Chunshin

Park is a 55 year old Professor and digital artist from Seoul Korea. He works wonders with his designs. He has been involved in digital imagery since 1994. I especially like the last image which reminds me of the peace and serenity that an unborn fetus feels as it is carried by its mother.

Eric Wayne

                                                                    Eric Wayne

Eric tries to display tradition artist in his digital art while creating new imagery. He tries to show        off Van Gough, Bacon and Monet in this image while also being contemporary.
This reminded me of something Hunter Thompson might create.

Dimensional Rendering and Shadows

MOCA 8

The name of this piece is "leschiens" by Jean Pourmarede. There isn't too much information on him or his paintings, all that was shared is that Jean is a  symbolist digital painter. I am so intrigued by this painting, he is an incredible artist, in my opinion. One of the things I love most about this piece is the illusion that you can touch it and feel the texture of the buildings. I would love to learn what inspired him to create this piece, or what is this piece portraying.

Celtic Knotting

This project was very interesting to me because of the history behind it. I have always been deeply interested in religious iconography and symbolism. As a child, I had a lot of exposure to these things because I attended a Catholic school. I currently work as a massage therapist/ yoga teacher which has led to extensive study of eastern religion, philosophy, and healing practices over the last eight years. I love all of it, which is why I chose to major in Philosophy & Religion at Albertus. No matter where you are in the world, or what your spiritual belief system is, chances are you can find an example of this sort of symbolism. The numbers 3 and 4 come up a lot, as do concepts of balance, harmony, eternity, and infinity.
Basic Celtic Knot

It is hard for me to know how accurately I captured the concept, but this is a rendition of the concepts on the yin and yang. I know I used four segments, but look at it as three: left, middle, and right. Yin represents the passive and is referred to as feminine. Yang represents active and is referred to as masculine. In a traditional yin/yang picture, you middle line is also very important. It represents neutrality or androgeny. In the Indian system, it would be referred to Ida, Pingala, and Sushumna.

Gun Legler  lives in a little village near Gothenburg, Sweden.  When Gun  was 40, she left her job as a child psychologist and teacher, and went to art school where she learned graphic art (etchings and such) for four years. Besides that, she has also worked much with textile collages and watercolor collages. After buying her first computer ten years ago,  she became  more and more concentrated on digital art.

Now the computer takes up all her time . She writes "I have no education in computer art. I am self-taught. I work in PaintShopPro and sometimes Photoshop. I work mostly from photos, my own and others. Textures are very important for me. I think my love for working with textiles has given birth to that love. With my images I try to evoke an emotional response in the viewer. I try to portray feelings and states of mind in an aesthetic but not always pleasing way."

"Pear"

"Star"

Colin Aiken... Good stuff

Round and Round

Diver                              A River runs Through

I really his work. Much of it reminds me of negative images imposed with color. Colin lives in the U.K. and says that These are all simple photographs. Light has been captured by a camera and the resulting latent image has been processed and printed. The processing is a little different, but it’s only a question of degree. He also says that"If you want to know more about me just look in the mirror."
